Itinerary

On arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, you will be met by our local representative and then transferred to your lodge, ideally located nearby for a first rest after the flight.

Dinner and overnight stay at Moyoni Airport Lodge (or equivalent accommodation).

Stop : Kilimanjaro Airport

After breakfast at the lodge, depart towards Manyara National Park, a true green haven nestled at the foot of the Rift Valley.

From the very first moments, the track winds through the heart of a lush tropical forest where huge groups of baboons are active, sometimes more than a hundred, while blue monkeys swing from tree to tree. In the clearings, the discreet bushbucks cautiously move between shadow and light, and the silvery-cheeked hornbills catch the eye with their large impressive casque.

The day is dedicated to a safari in the park, punctuated by a picnic lunch under the umbrella acacias. Manyara stands out for the richness of its wildlife: elephants, buffalo, giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, impalas and a multitude of birds around the wetlands. The hippo pool offers a striking spectacle, while the park is known for a rare phenomenon: the lions perched in the trees, which you may be lucky enough to see!

Late afternoon, drive to Mto Wa Mbu village. On request, your driver can arrange a guided village visit, to discover local life and Tanzanian craftsmen.

Dinner and night at Ngorongoro Forest Tented Lodge (or equivalent accommodation).

Stages: Arusha – Manyara – Karatu
Accommodation: Ngorongoro Forest Tented Lodge

After breakfast, an early departure for an exceptional day in the Ngorongoro Crater, a site listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site and often described as the eighth natural wonder of the world.

This gigantic natural amphitheatre, formed by the collapse of an ancient volcano, stretches for nearly 20 km in diameter and descends to 600 metres in depth. A true wildlife sanctuary, it is home to a wildlife density among the most impressive in Africa: lions, elephants, buffalos, zebras, wildebeest, gazelles… and even the rare black rhinoceros. It is one of the few places where it is possible to observe the Big Five in such a spectacular setting.

The picnic lunch takes place by the edge of Ngoitokitok pond, a peaceful spot often frequented by hippopotamuses and many water birds. Lake Magadi, in the centre of the crater, attracts countless flamingos and other migratory species, making the site a true paradise for birdwatchers — more than 500 species have been recorded there.

Late afternoon, drive to the Ndutu region, on the edge of the Serengeti, for the next part of your adventure.
Dinner and overnight depending on the season:

  • from April to November at Ndutu Lodge (or equivalent accommodation)

  • from December to March at the Ndutu Wildlands Mobile Camp (or equivalent)

Route: Karatu – Ngorongoro – Ndutu
Accommodation: Ndutu Lodge or Ndutu Wildlands Mobile Camp

After breakfast, depart for a full immersion in the heart of the Serengeti savannah, one of Africa’s most emblematic parks.
Listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Serengeti stretches across nearly 15,000 km², forming an ecosystem of exceptional richness.

🌿 From April to November

These three days are devoted to exploring Serengeti National Park. The vast golden plains are home to countless wildebeest, zebras, gazelles and their predators — lions, cheetahs and hyenas — offering scenes of wildlife of rare intensity.
The landscapes here are varied: endless plains in the south, wooded hills in the west, granite kopjes in the east, and bush savannah in the north.
At every turn of the track, life expresses itself in all its power and beauty.

Picnic lunch during the safari, then continue the discovery until sunset, a magical moment when the light sets the savannah ablaze.

Dinner and night at Serengeti Wildlands Mobile Camp (or equivalent mobile camp).

🦓 From December to March

During this period, the Great Migration concentrates in the Ndutu area, on the border between the Serengeti and the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. The programme is therefore adjusted to allow you to follow this unique natural spectacle.

  • Day 4 & Day 5 : Safaris in the Ndutu area, the cradle of the migration and a prime location for observing wildebeest and zebra births.
→ Dinners and nights at Ndutu Wildlands Camp (or equivalent).

  • Day 6 : Drive to Serengeti National Park and safari in the central plains.
→ Dinner and night at Serengeti Wildlands Mobile Camp (or equivalent, such as Makoma Ndogo Camp).

In these magnificent landscapes, the herbivore herds attract the predators lurking nearby. Perhaps you will witness the lightning-fast run of a cheetah after a Thomson’s gazelle — a legendary Serengeti scene.

Stages: Ndutu – Serengeti
Accommodation: Ndutu Wildlands Camp or Serengeti Wildlands Mobile Camp (depending on the season)

After breakfast, depart for a final morning safari in the Serengeti, an opportunity to enjoy one last time the magic of the savannah and its inhabitants. Along the way, herds of herbivores and predators still provide magnificent wildlife scenes before leaving the park.

You will then head to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, a vast protected region where wildlife and Maasai communities live alongside one another. Tanzania has turned this harmony between nature and culture into a model of sustainable ecotourism, based on exemplary conservation policies.

Packed lunch en route, then continue to Olduvai, a major historic site where some of the oldest human fossils were discovered.
If you wish, there is the option to visit a Maasai village to discover their traditions and way of life (optional visit payable locally).

Arrival in the late afternoon in Karatu for check-in at the lodge.
Dinner and overnight stay at Ngorongoro Forest Tented Lodge (or equivalent accommodation).

Stages: Serengeti – Ngorongoro – Karatu
Accommodation: Ngorongoro Forest Tented Lodge

After breakfast, depart for Tarangire National Park, located about 1 hour 30 minutes' drive away.

This day is dedicated to exploring one of the most beautiful wildlife sanctuaries in northern Tanzania. Covering nearly 2,850 km², Tarangire is famous for its vast herds of elephants, its majestic baobabs and the diversity of its wildlife, particularly spectacular between August and January.

Less visited than other northern parks, it offers the chance to observe rare and elusive species: beisa oryx, lesser kudu, greater kudu, eland and even giraffe-necked antelope.

Picnic lunch in the heart of the park, in the shade of the acacias or overlooking the Tarangire River, a true lifeline that never completely dries up. This river attracts abundant wildlife, and the elephants often strip the baobabs of their bark there to drink — a fascinating spectacle.

In the early afternoon, drive to your lodge located on the edge of the park for some relaxation after this wonderful safari day.

Dinner and overnight at Lake Burunge Tented Camp (or equivalent accommodation).

Stages: Karatu – Tarangire – Lake Burunge
Accommodation: Lake Burunge Tented Camp – Full board

After breakfast, depart for a new morning of safari in Tarangire National Park, an iconic place in northern Tanzania where nature unfolds in all its splendour.

With its 2,850 km², Tarangire is known for its exceptional concentration of wild animals, especially between August and January. Its landscapes dotted with giant baobabs are home to large families of elephants, as well as varied wildlife: giraffes, zebras, lions, wildebeest, but also rarer species such as the gerenuk, the lesser kudu, the oryx beisa, the eland and the greater kudu, particularly sought after by safari enthusiasts.

Picnic lunch during the safari, by the Tarangire River, which flows all year round and attracts a large number of animals coming to drink there. Watch the elephants tear away the bark from the baobabs to extract water — a fascinating behaviour typical of this park.

In the early afternoon, drive to Arusha for your final evening in Tanzania.
Dinner and overnight at Moivaro Coffee Lodge (or equivalent accommodation).

Stages: Tarangire – Arusha
Accommodation: Moivaro Coffee Lodge
