Personalised welcome on arrival at Kilimandjaro International Airport by our local representative.
After the formalities, transfer to your nearby lodge for a well-deserved rest before the start of your Tanzanian adventure.
Dinner at leisure (not included) and overnight at Moyoni Airport Lodge (or equivalent accommodation).
Stage: Kilimanjaro Airport
After breakfast, depart for Lake Manyara National Park, a natural wonder nestled at the foot of the Rift Valley.
As soon as you enter the park, the road winds through a dense tropical forest where huge groups of baboons come to life, sometimes several hundred strong, playing and calling at the roadside. In the trees, blue monkeys move with agility while the silvery-cheeked hornbills cross the sky with their large, impressive beaks.
The safari continues towards the plains and the lakeshore, where elephants, giraffes, zebras, wildebeest and buffalo live alongside a multitude of waterbirds, including the graceful pink flamingos. With a bit of luck, you may spot the lions perched in the acacias, a rare and typical behaviour in this park.
Picnic lunch during the safari, then drive to Karatu in the late afternoon for check-in at the lodge.
Dinner and overnight stay at Ngorongoro Forest Tented Lodge, in lodge room(or similar)
After breakfast, an early departure for a day of exploration in one of Africa’s most legendary places: the Ngorongoro Crater, often dubbed the eighth wonder of the world.
Formed by the collapse of an ancient volcano several million years ago, this exceptional site, listed as UNESCO World Heritage, forms a caldera nearly 20 km in diameter and is home to one of the highest concentrations of wildlife in the world. Surrounded by cliffs over 600 metres high, this nature reserve constitutes a truly self-contained ecosystem.
This is where you may be lucky enough to spot the Big Five — lions, elephants, buffalos, leopards and black rhinos — as well as a multitude of other species: zebras, wildebeest, hyenas, gazelles, hippos and flamingos around Lake Magadi.
A picnic lunch is planned by the edge of the Ngoitokitok pool, a peaceful spot often frequented by hippos and water birds.
Late in the afternoon, return to Karatu for a relaxing evening at the lodge.
Dinner and overnight stay at Ngorongoro Forest Tented Lodge, in lodge room (or equivalent)
After breakfast, depart for Tarangire National Park, renowned for its vast plains dotted with majestic baobabs and its large herds of elephants. Crossed by the Tarangire River, this park is home to abundant wildlife, particularly concentrated during the dry season, when animals come here to drink.
During this final morning safari, you may have the chance to observe lions, giraffes, zebras, impalas, and various species of antelope, as well as numerous birds, including elegant hornbills and rollers.
Picnic lunch during the day, before setting off for Arusha.
In the early afternoon, transfer to Arusha Airport or Kilimanjaro Airport for your international flight.
