The park is home to species that are harder to spot and often unseen in other parks in northern Tanzania, such as the gerenuk, the lesser kudu, the beisa oryx, the eland and the most sought-after antelope, the greater kudu.
Picnic lunch during the safari.
The park is crossed by a river that never dries up in some places, the Tarangire River. This park has the highest concentration of baobabs in the world, which dot the landscape. Elephants, of which there are many, strip the bark from these mythical trees to drink, as they are true water pumps.

Manyara National Park

Breakfast at the lodge. Depart for Manyara Park.
From the main entrance, the road first winds through lush jungle where groups of baboons, some hundred strong, bustle along the path, where blue monkeys blend into the trees and where shy bushbucks move cautiously between the shade and light of the undergrowth. The silvery-cheeked hornbills impress with their huge casques, as if they had to set off for war within the hour.
Full-day safari and picnic lunch under the umbrella acacias.
This park, in the Rift Valley, has an interesting diversity of wildlife to observe: elephants, buffalo, zebras, wildebeest, giraffes, impalas and many others. The hippo pool attracts a large number of water birds. Manyara Park sometimes offers a rare spectacle, that of lions perching, sometimes very high up, in the umbrella acacias. Will you be lucky enough to spot them perched there?
At the end of the day, you will drive towards the village of Mto Wa Mbu; if you ask your driver, you can visit the village.

A special moment: it is one of the only places in Tanzania where you can see the “Big Five”: the elephant, the lion, the rhinoceros, the leopard and the buffalo.

More than 500 species of birds, resident and migratory, can be seen in the crater. Lake Magadi, with its brackish waters, is often frequented by flamingos. Hippos lounge in the freshwater ponds while buffaloes take mud baths.

The Serengeti National Park
Departure for the safari in the Serengeti or in Ndutu straight after breakfast.
The Serengeti is the country’s second largest national park (14,763 km2). Famous for the annual migration of thousands of wildebeest, this park offers grand landscapes to admire: the grassy savannah of the endless plains in the south, the wooded and hilly regions in the west, the Kopjes area (granite formations) in the east and the bush savannah in the north.
The feeling of freedom brought by the wide open spaces that characterise the Serengeti plains and the golden savannah scorched by the shimmering sun stretching to the horizon is as fascinating as the safari itself. And, after the rains, the golden expanse turns into a vast green carpet dotted with wild flowers.
Picnic lunch during the safari.

In these vast plains with numerous permanent waterholes, herds of herbivores followed by their predators offer an impressive spectacle. The Serengeti is so large that you may well be the only ones to witness the hunt carried out by the cheetah whose favourite prey is Thomson’s gazelle.
Dinner and overnight at Serengeti Wildlands Camp from April to November (or equivalent) or at Ndutu Wildlands Camp from January to March (or equivalent)
- Stages: Karatu - Serengeti
- Accommodation: Serengeti Wildlands camp

The Serengeti National Park
After breakfast, another full day of safari to enjoy Serengeti National Park.
The oldest and most popular of Tanzania’s national parks, Serengeti National Park has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1978. Even when the wildebeest migration is over, it remains one of the finest places for a safari. The park is home to the highest density of plains wildlife in the world. Herds of buffalo, elephants, giraffes, elands, tsessebes, hartebeests, impalas and gazelles can be observed, not to mention the felines (lions, leopards, cheetahs…) and hyenas.

This abundance of animals has generated a local economy based on ecotourism, and Tanzania has established protection policies and specific taxation for tourism activities.
