Dinner (not included) and overnight at the lodge

  • Stages : Kilimanjaro Airport
  • Accommodation : Moyoni Airport Lodge(or equivalent)

Breakfast at the lodge. Departure for Manyara National Park.

From the main entrance, the road first winds through lush jungle where groups of baboons, some a hundred strong, bustle along the path, where blue monkeys blend into the trees and where the shy bushbuck move cautiously between the shade and light of the undergrowth.

The silver-cheeked hornbills are striking with their enormous casques, as if they were about to go to war within the hour.

Full-day safari and picnic lunch under the umbrella acacias.

This park, in the Rift Valley, has an interesting variety of wildlife to observe: elephants, buffalo, zebras, wildebeest, giraffes, impalas and many others. The hippo pool attracts a large number of water birds. Manyara Park sometimes offers a rare sight, with lions perched, sometimes very high up, in the umbrella acacias. Will you be lucky enough to spot them perched there?

At the end of the day, you will drive to the village of Mto Wa Mbu, if you ask your driver, you can visit the village. ( > watch the video of this village)

Dinner and overnight stay at Ngorongoro Forest Tented Lodge

  • Stages: Karatu
  • Accommodation: Ngorongoro Forest Tented Lodge, in a lodge room(or equivalent)

Breakfast at the lodge. Departure for Ngorongoro Crater.

This day will be devoted to discovering this famous crater, considered to be the 8th Wonder of the World ( > see the video of this place).

The crater is a vast caldera 20 km in internal diameter. At its centre it shelters incredibly rich wildlife, perfectly protected by a 600-metre-high rim.

A special moment: this is one of the few places in Tanzania where you can see the “Big Five”: the elephant, the lion, the rhinoceros, the leopard and the buffalo.

Picnic lunch by the edge of Ngoitokitok pool.

More than 500 species of birds, resident and migratory, are observed in the crater. Lake Magadi, with its brackish waters, is often frequented by flamingos. Hippos lounge in the freshwater pools while buffaloes take mud baths.

After breakfast, depart for the Tarangire region.

Safari day in Tarangire National Park, considered one of the country’s finest wildlife refuges.

Covering an area of 2,850 km², it is renowned for its exceptional concentrations of animals between August and January.

The park is home to species that are more difficult to spot and often impossible to find in other parks in northern Tanzania, such as the gerenuk, the lesser kudu, the oryx beisa, the eland and the most sought-after of antelopes, the greater kudu.

Picnic lunch during the safari.

The park is crossed by a river that never dries up in some places, the Tarangire River. This park has the highest concentration of baobabs in the world, dotted across the landscape. Elephants, very numerous, strip the bark from these mythical trees to drink, as they are true water pumps.

In the early afternoon, depart for Arusha.

Dinner (not included) and overnight at the Moivaro Coffee Lodge

  • Stages: Arusha
  • Accommodation: Moivaro Coffee Lodge
