After breakfast, another full day of safari to enjoy Serengeti National Park.

The oldest and most popular of Tanzania’s national parks, Serengeti National Park has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1978. Even when the wildebeest migration is over, it remains one of the finest places for a safari. The park is home to the highest density of plains wildlife in the world. Herds of buffalo, elephants, giraffes, eland, topi, hartebeest, impala and gazelle can be observed, not forgetting the big cats (lions, leopards, cheetahs…) and hyenas.

Picnic lunch during the safari.

This abundance of animals has generated a local economy based on eco-tourism, and Tanzania has established protection policies and specific taxation for tourism activities.

At the end of the day, departure for your accommodation.

Dinner and overnight stay at Ndutu Lodge from June to November (or equivalent)

Breakfast at the lodge. Departure for the Ngorongoro Crater.

This day will be devoted to discovering this famous crater, considered the 8th Wonder of the World ( > see the video of this place).

The crater is a vast caldera with an internal diameter of 20 km. It is home to an incredibly rich wildlife population, perfectly protected by a 600-metre-high wall.

A special moment: it is one of the only places in Tanzania where you can see the “Big Five”: the elephant, the lion, the rhinoceros, the leopard and the buffalo.

Picnic lunch by the Ngoitokitok pond.

More than 500 species of birds, resident and migratory, are observed in the crater. Lake Magadi, with its brackish waters, is often frequented by pink flamingos. Hippopotamuses laze in the freshwater ponds while buffalos take mud baths.

Dinner and overnight stay at the Ngorongoro Forest Tented Lodge (or equivalent)

After breakfast, depart for the Tarangire region.

Day of safari in Tarangire National Park, considered one of the country's finest wildlife refuges.

Covering an area of 2,850 km2, it is renowned for its exceptional concentrations of animals between August and January. The park is home to species that are harder to spot and often not found in the other parks of northern Tanzania, such as: the gerenuk, the lesser kudu, the beisa oryx, the eland and the most sought-after antelope, the greater kudu.

Picnic lunch during the safari.

The park is crossed by a river that never runs dry in certain places, the Tarangire River. This park has the highest concentration of baobabs in the world, which dot the landscape. Elephants, in great numbers, cut into the bark of these mythical trees to drink, as they are veritable water pumps.
