Family Safari in Tanzania
Duration
From
Imagine your family waking up in the heart of the Tanzanian savannah, the children wide-eyed at their first elephant or lion, while the golden sun breaks over the horizon: this unique adventure begins as soon as you arrive. Over ten magical days (nine nights), you will discover Arusha, Lake Manyara, the Ngorongoro Crater, Tarangire National Park, then a well-deserved extension in Zanzibar, with family-friendly accommodation, comfortable lodges and swimming pools for moments of relaxation.
Activities designed with children in mind set the pace of the stay: a visit to the village of Mto Wa Mbu, a painting workshop where everyone leaves with their own canvas, a safari at a pace suited to younger travellers, and swimming breaks in enchanting natural settings. You will see elephants, giraffes, zebras, perhaps lions perched in the acacias at Manyara, and may even spot the “Big Five” in the Ngorongoro Crater: lions, leopards, elephants, buffalo, rhino
The perfect balance between nature exploration, immersion in local culture, authentic encounters and moments of relaxation in Zanzibar guarantees you a memorable stay, where discovery is combined with wonder and comfort.

From the main entrance, the road first winds through lush jungle where groups of baboons, numbering around a hundred individuals, are busy along the path, where blue monkeys blend into the trees and where the shy bushbucks move cautiously between the shade and the light of the undergrowth.
The silver-cheeked hornbills are astonishing with their huge casque, as if they were due to go to war within the hour.

- Full-day family safari and picnic lunch under the umbrella acacias. This park, in the Rift Valley, has an interesting diversity of wildlife to observe: elephants, buffalo, zebras, wildebeest, giraffes, impalas and many others. The hippo pool attracts a large number of water birds. Manyara National Park sometimes offers a rare spectacle, that of lions perched, sometimes very high up, in the umbrella acacias. Will you be lucky enough to spot them up there? At the end of the day, you will drive to the village of Mto Wa Mbu, and you will go with the children to see a local artist painter. He will prepare a canvas with you that the children can take home.

The crater is a vast caldera 20 km in internal diameter. It is home to an incredibly rich wildlife population, perfectly protected by a 600-metre-high natural wall.

A truly exceptional moment: this is one of the only places in Tanzania where you can see the “Big Five”: the elephant, the lion, the rhinoceros, the leopard and the buffalo.
Picnic lunch at the edge of Ngoitokitok pond.
More than 500 species of birds, resident and migratory, are observed in the crater. Lake Magadi, with its brackish waters, is often frequented by pink flamingos. Hippos lounge in the freshwater ponds while buffalo take mud baths.

Picnic lunch during the safari.
The park is crossed by a river that never dries up in certain places, the Tarangire River. This park has the highest concentration of baobabs in the world, dotting the landscape.
