Itinerary
Arusha - Miriakamba Hut (2514 metres)

Your guide will pick you up from your hotel in Arusha at 8 o’clock in the morning to head to the small but magnificent Arusha National Park. After a 2-hour drive through the park, you will arrive at Momella gate, the starting point of your trek.
This trek begins with crossing the Ngare Nanyuki River among buffaloes and giraffes, accompanied by a ranger for your safety. A magnificent walk between forest and clearing in the heart of Arusha National Park, where your guide will find a pleasant spot for a picnic.
It takes 3-4 hours of walking to reach Mirikaamba Hut, where you will spend the night.

Miriakamba Hut - Saddle Hut (3570 metres)

Departure early in the morning for around 4 hours of walking and 1000 metres of elevation gain. The temperature at this altitude remains very pleasant, the vegetation is lush, almost tropical, and gradually gives way to heather.
Once at Saddle Hut camp you can make the ascent of "Little Meru", a 2-hour return trip with magnificent views. Remember to keep some energy for the third day.
Dinner and overnight at Saddle Hut refuge, located on the pass between Mt Meru and Little Meru.

Saddle Hut - Mount Meru - Arusha

After an early start (1:30 am), you will head off to reach the summit of Mt Meru. It takes about 5-6 hours of walking through an almost lunar landscape. You will arrive at Rhino Point after 1 hour of walking, then cross a narrow, airy ridge and, after a long effort, you will finally be able to admire the scenery. At 4,566 m, all the main volcanoes of the north of the country are visible, including the neighbouring Kilimanjaro from Mt Meru. The return to Saddle Hut will take 3 hours of walking, where lunch will be waiting for you. Then from Saddle Hut, it will still take 4 hours of walking to reach Momella Gate, where a car will be waiting for your return to Arusha in the late afternoon.
