Safaris in Tanzania have developed very rapidly in recent years, and Off Road Tanzania is particularly keen to respect human values, while also avoiding mass tourism and helping local communities through sustainable actions.
The Rothia project
Orphaned children on safari
Off Road Tanzania decided to get involved alongside Rothia Valley to give children the chance to discover the natural riches of their country. Indeed, Tanzania is among the richest countries in Africa in terms of wildlife. The national parks of the north are world-renowned for their beauty and for the density of animals that live there. Lands of great migrations, it is millions of wildebeest and zebras that cross these pristine plains in search of green pastures and watering holes.
By taking part in this adventure with them, we therefore wanted to give these children the opportunity to experience the incredible safari adventure.
Drawing on several years of experience in this sector, Off Road Tanzania provided its vehicles and driver-guides to organise a two-day safari for 13 children from the Rhotia Valley orphanage. An experience they are unlikely to forget!
Eco-responsible lodges
Off Road Tanzania owns 5 lodges and tented camps across the northern parks. All are small establishments, welcoming a limited number of travellers.
Some are equipped with solar panels in order to use the country’s natural resources.
The tented camps located in the heart of the Bush make it possible to enjoy exceptional moments in unique places.
Water and electricity therefore become scarce commodities, which is why their use is limited.
A local way of life
Having a safari agency in Tanzania means coexisting and getting involved in the country’s social life.
Off Road Tanzania sponsors the Arusha youth football team, “Future Stars Academy”. Thanks to its various sponsors, equipment is replaced, tournaments are organised and the teams can wear smart shirts!
Help for the local population
Off Road Tanzania tries to help children in orphanages through one-off and long-term actions.
We have helped to repair roofs, bought new washing machines and given rooms a fresh look in an effort to improve the day-to-day lives of some of the country’s children.
